Tempranillo - Frenchmen's Creek '13
Tasting Notes
Unlike other full-bodied reds, Tempranillo is generally low in alcohol and acidity. They can be consumed young, but the better ones, such as this Frenchmen’s Creek (elev: 2000’) version, are capable of ageing for several years. Deep rich color with bright purple tinge. Cola, blackcurrants and loads of plum fill the nose with hints of lightly brewed coffee/mocha. Black cherry, black plum and vanilla follows through onto the palate. Velvety tannins and very approachable, fantastic fruit driven wine that demands a second glass.
